Bulldog Breeding
Bulldogs are defiantly a family pet!
This page is going to tell you a little about bulldog breeding and how important somethings are.
My family has been breeding bulldogs for about two years now. It takes A LOT of work to keep them healthy and usually it can cost quite a bit of money as well.
The proses we go though goes something like this…
- You need to make sure your bulldog is at least 18 months old and has come in heat at least twice.
- You need to make sure you breed to the best of the best that way they don't come out with defects or hip problems.
- Once you impregnate your bulldog you should go back in to the vet to get a cheek up and sonogram on about the forty-fifth day.
- It should be between fifty-nine to sixty-three days before she needs to be taken in agin to see if she is ready to deliver.
It is normal for bulldogs to have Cesarean Section. They normally have these because if you haven't been around a bull dog that much they are usually a pretty lazy breed of dog.
The process for a Cesarean Section goes something like this.
- First they will give your dog a medicine that will make her go out.
- After the drugs kick in the vet ill start by ting the dogs legs back when the dog is on its back
- The vet will then take a razor and shave the dogs stomach where he is going to make the incision.
- He will first cut through the layers of skin and the fat.
- He will then stick his hand inside the dog and find its womb.
- The Bulldogs womb is in the shape of a "J" and is very long. he will take the womb and pull it out of the incision and them cut through it.
- As your vet is taking the puppies out there will be at least two other vet assistance there to rub the puppies until they well or make any kind of noise. (just to make sure they are alive and to kind of wake them up)
